PID Temperature Controllers monitor molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) effusion cell temperature and regulate the power supply output. They allow the parameters-Proportional band, Integral time constant and Derivative time constant (PID)-to be tuned to the specific heater filaments and temperature range used. This enables the cells to achieve excellent flux stability. The Eurotherm 2404 PID Temperature Controller provides closed-loop effusion cell control with Veeco's Auto-Ranging DC Power Module. It features readouts of setpoints and process ; advanced PID algorithm; self-tuning to set up initial PID and determine overshoot inhibition parameters; continuous adaptive tuning, which adjusts PID as cell characteristics change with heating and charge depletion; auto/manual operation; and a setpoint programming option.
